The translation is smooth for the most part, but almost every page has some oddity, English that is understandable but doesn't sound quite right. Some samples from the first few pages:----------

When choosing children's books, one of my most important criteria is personal pleasure. If I don't like a book, any child that I read it to will inevitably detect my irritation and also dislike it. The story line is quite clear so far (the author has aroused my curiosity: I want to find out more) and I enjoyed looking at the cartoon illustrations, so I only took off one point for the occasional unidiomatic phrasing or word choice.
