Phantom Lives is a good book, but could be much better if it had been edited for typos. There are numerous typos on each page. And, the dialogue is stilted and boring to read. As a previous reviewer mentioned, there are no contractions! Most of the hyphenated words and phrases are missing the hypens. Compound words are written as 2 separate words. It makes me wonder how much grammar and spelling the author knows. The story concept is good, but is ruined by the numerous typos. If I had not gotten this book for free I would be extremely upset. People pay good money for Kindle books, and they are getting a very sloppy book. I would be willing to proofread this book and make corrections, for free. I would have rated the book 4 stars except for all the typos.

Phantom Lives is a very cleverly put together work of fiction. We saw glimpses from civil war age as well as present day and I beleive that Elizabeth Loraine did an excellent job weaving the two worlds together. She makes sure that the story had no holes and it flows fluently from beginning to end. I absolutely loved the entire story especially the ending and I can't wait for the next book in the series.~Intoxicated by Books
The story is unique -- not something I've seen done before. However, at times I found it difficult to follow and keep up with the mythology created within. I wanted to like it a lot but I didn't find the story well executed and sadly did not keep my attention. I kept putting the book aside to start others because I didn't care about what happened next.
This is another great read and a fantastic new world i hadn't ventured into yet! Thoughtful and well written, its excellent in making you feel like you're there with the characters. Wonderful!!
VERY different from the vampire series Elizabeth Loraine writes but just as good. I enjoyed this book from the first page. It brings together past and present day without feeling disjointed a feat for any writer. The strong female m s in character is lovable and I found myself rooting for her from the cons page of the book. A must read if you liked her vampire series.
I absolutely loved this book and would recommend it to everyone I know, for that matter everyone I don't know as well. this story was beautifully written with so much heart and soul. While reading this story I truly felt transported as if I were in the story not just a passerby. Amazing, truly amazing!!!!!!!!
I don't read too many book in this genre but I must say I loved this book. It was exciting and kept me on the edge on my seat wanting to know what happens next. Its about a woman who after losing her parents is taken advantage of by something very evil and has to find a way to get her life back. In her struggle for freedom she discovers she has a important destiny in life and will do everything in her power to fulfill it. Its got paranormal romance and drama all rolled in to one its a definate must read.
I have read everthing this author has written. Elizabeth Loraine is truly one of the best of autors coming up. She leaves you with your mind buzzing with what is going to happen now. Her characters are sharp and precise. True to the story. There is no confussion in her story line. She is a great author and you have to read anything she has written ! ! ! It will definitly be a loss on your part if you do not.
